How we work
We will come and meet you, see your space and talk about what is possible. Are you working with an architect or designer? Do you have your own plans? Would you like us to think with you to make a space that you will love? We want to gather as much information as possible so we can make you a detailed estimate.
After meeting you and learning about your project we will make you a price for your job. We will try to be as accurate as possible and include every detail but often times in projects unforeseen things happen or changes are made and these things effect the costs of the project. For this reason we do not work with a fixed price but rather by time and material. Transparency is very important to us. We record all materials purchased and all hours worked and will provide this to you as an explanation for the costs of the job.
Sustainable
Have you thought about your project’s impact on the environment? Are you looking to become Co2 neutral? Want solar panels in your build? What type on insulation should we use? There are many decisions in the building process. We would like to offer you options that are good for the environment.
Transparent
Throughout the course of your project we keep track of all actual costs and time spent and record them to compare to your estimate. Maybe it cost more because we had to replace some rotten floor boards. Maybe time was saved in another area. This is something we want to evaluate with you.
Working Together
Do you want to help on parts of the project? Would you like to save part of the project for a later date due to budget restraints? Would you like to use cheaper materials? We are happy to work with you on these choices.
Flexible
Because we work time and material, it is easy for us to make changes as we go. We are able to add or take away things from the job as well as handle unforeseen problem that sometimes occur. It is important to remember any changes made do effect the cost and time therefore we find that communication is key in this process.
Detailed
We break our estimate up as much as possible in order to keep track of costs and also to offer you options. Maybe throughout the course of the project you decide to cut-out or skip something for later. This detailed estimate lets you see what you’ll spend or save.
